Python Developer (Contract)
Location: South Yorkshire Country: UK Rate: £700 per day
We are seeking a skilled Python Developer with experience in Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) and Splunk to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, particularly with Python, and a deep understanding of cybersecurity tools and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Python scripts and applications to support SOAR activities.
- Integrate and automate security tools and platforms, particularly using Splunk.
- Design, implement, and manage SOAR playbooks to enhance security operations.
- Collaborate with security analysts and other IT professionals to define and implement automation solutions.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing SOAR solutions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of security processes and practices.
- Document development processes, configurations, and changes to the SOAR environment.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in cybersecurity, SOAR, and related technologies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Python Developer.
- Extensive experience with SOAR platforms (eg, Splunk Phantom).
- Proficiency in Splunk, including developing dashboards, reports, and alerts.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
- Experience with REST APIs and integrating various security tools.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (eg, Splunk Certified Developer, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
- Experience with other programming languages and Scripting (eg, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and services (eg, AWS, Azure, GCP).
